Can kiln wash be used for both glass and ceramics?

Many of our kilns either come with a kiln wash, or it is offered along with the purchase of a furniture kit.

Kiln wash is generally single purpose.

If you are ordering a ceramic kiln, and it comes with kiln wash, that kiln wash is meant to be used for ceramics.

If you are purchasing a glass kiln, that kiln wash is meant to be used with glass.

There are some kiln series, such as Jen-Ken's "Ceram-A-Glass" that offers a kiln wash as well - in this case, the kiln wash is safe to use with both ceramics and glass. The caveat here is that you should be keeping kiln shelves separate for each purpose (Don't re-use a shelf you did a ceramic firing with a glass firing).
